One of the largest stablecoins is now becoming available within the Bitcoin ecosystem. Support for the token has been implemented through a new protocol that enables the issuance and management of digital assets on top of the first cryptocurrency.
Users will now be able to store USDT alongside Bitcoin in a single wallet, as well as make transfers even without a constant internet connection.
The creators emphasize that Bitcoin needs its own stablecoin—one that is deeply integrated, easy to use, and secure.
At present, USDT is already operating on more than twenty networks, including Ethereum, TRON, Solana, Polygon, and Avalanche.
What is RGB?
RGB is a relatively new protocol designed for issuing and managing digital assets on top of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network. It allows for the creation of various tokens, including stablecoins, and their use within familiar infrastructure. To coordinate and further develop the project, a separate association was later established, bringing together a number of teams and initiatives from the crypto space.
